First Post!

* Yawn * Been up since 4:30AM, as unlike a lot of people, I opted to go to bed early (though I salute those who stayed up all night). Been playing Half-Life 2 since I woke up and like so many are saying, this is one awesome game that was well worth the wait. It's not one particular element that stands out, but everything comes together so amazingly well, it's just very impressive. Now, I must jump back in. Also on FileShack

  • Well, I just got back from Panama City, FL. Got to spend a few days with my parents. My mom is the organist at church (as well as being a family therapist) and I got to hear her play. I went to church for the first time in at least 4 years, possibly longer. Evidently, I am still redeemable because I didn't show any signs of possession and the church did not implode when I entered. This is a good thing.

My father is a builder and they just built a new home. It's beautiful, but a bit smaller than their last house. They plan to keep building and selling until they own a large home free and clear with the profits they've made off of the homes they lived in. After flipping homes 2 times, they are nearly there. The real estate market in North Florida has gone nuts. Dad has 6 custom homes going right now, one of which is frigging huge and has a cost of 1.2 million. That's COST, dad is going to make a very nice fee from that one.

Flights went great, but I gotta say, the Memphis airport is a fucking hellhole. It has a very dated look to it and I can't imagine it was attractive even when it was built. It has a 70's highschool, correction facilty type vibe to it. Not attractive at all and nowhere halfway decent to eat. Detroit's airport is pretty cool though, but it needs more Starbucks (like O'Hare, which has one ever 10 feet).

I've been up since 4, was supposed to be home by 12:40 today. Fucking airplane had some problem and we were delayed for an hour while we sat it out on the tarmac. We got into Detroit so late, I missed my plane and wasn't able to get rescheduled until 4:30. Dammit I'm tired.
