Valve let us know that two Prima Games books on Half-Life 2 will be in stores tomorrow, November 12. There's the 288-page Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar book about the origins of Valve and development of Half-Life 2, as well as the 320 page Half-Life 2 Official Game Guide.

I see the HL2: Raising the Bar book on Amazon.com, but it says it's a paperback, while the press release says it's a hardback. So which is it?

Hmmm, rather bold of them to call the book "Raising The Bar".

They must be very confident in it's success.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I think the game looks great, and if it does what it promises to do (as we see in the videos, the previews and what they talk about in the interviews) then it will be an awesome game, but I wonder exactly how much it will raise the bar. HL2 strikes me as at best an evolution rather then a revolution.

We shall see I suppose.
