ATTN: Ping Mens

I'm not sure if I've showed you guys this yet, but it's kinda neat. We cross connected all of our data centers with private fiber transit, meaning we've cut way back on the # of hops between the different cities. So, if you have our DSL and you are in Dallas, you go directly to Seattle, or directly to San Francisco... meaning VERY low ping times.

You can click on a city and see what ping times are from that city to another city, and they are pretty damn low. We also have London up in the house now too.

I want to add more stuff to this, like local stats for that POP (# of players, weather in the city, local sport scores, current matches going on etc) but this is a start of our plans to united all our server infrastructure - and peer in to other providers (Battle.net etc) to get all gaming traffic on a nice clean network.

Sometimes when I'm feeling sad I play with the map and say "wow, pings, lol lol lol."

Goddammit! I give up on buying stuff online!

I recently bought a Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB from a fellow Shacker via Shackifieds. I paid on Monday, he agreed to ship on Thursday. Thursday rolled around and I hadn't heard from him. It wasn't until Tuesday of the next week that he replied to my emails. He said that he hadn't shipped the card on Thursday as he promised, but he was sending it via USPS Express Next-Day Air to make up for it. After missing the postman yesterday since it required a signature, I received the card today. It was packaged in an anti-static bag and a bubble mailer. NO BOX AT ALL! Miraculously, it still worked. However, it was not a Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB as the seller described! It's just a plain Radeon 9800 128MB which is around 20% slower. I emailed him for a refund, but who knows if he'll ever respond.

This comes after getting ripped off on eBay, Half.com, and SA all in the last two months. I also never received the stuff I order from Lik-Sang nearly three months ago and they won't give me a refund.

Before the last couple months, I've had nothing but great experiences buying from people online :[

Half-Life 2 Preload Installer

It would have been nice to have seen valve create this tool, but someone else did it instead. It lets you burn your Steam cache files to DVD, with an autorun installer to reinstall them. Probably convenient for anyone who has to reformat.

helter told me about them.. their stuff looks impressive, especially that 'no dead pixel gaurantee' which even companies like dell, hp, compaq etc dont do.. their stuff is cheaper, and they offer pretty good customization stuff.. and its cheap too

and everyone on resellerratings is raving about them..

wtfs the story? it boggles my mind that a company that looks that small (judging by their site) could produce products that are apparently perfect, gaurantee them with insane warranties, and do it cheaper than everyone else.. it would be insane to see that from a company making desktop boxes, never mind notebooks..

i want to believe..

I recently watched Freaks & Geeks. Absolutely awesome series and it's a shame they canned it after 18 episodes. Anyway, in one episode, Lindsay listens to the Grateful Dead's American Beauty. Then she listens to it over and over and over again.

OK, just now being able to play some games since I have came back from the military and not really been playing much b/c I have been waiting to buy HL2. My wife bought me Doom 3 and I did not like it very well at all. The whole story seemed very familure..kinda like I liked it the first time I played it when it was called ''HALF LIFE''. Any who...

I am intersted in trying WOW beta version that all of you have been playing. Where can I download the game at and is there a certain world or relm that I have to join like FF XI? I was completely upset playing FF XI I was very bored with the game doing the same thing over and over and over fighting the same monster over and over and over but now stronger. My wife would laugh at me when I would get my azz kicked by a heard of sheep...sad day in my house hold.

For all of you guys chilling on your Athlon-XP 2500 - 3000+'s and wondering if the A64 jump is one worth making, i must say it is. I got my 3000+ 90nm A64 running last night and finally got some testing done. CS:S shows a blanket 30fps-40fps increase across the board over my 2500+ running at 3000+ speeds (2200mhz). Rome:Total War is alot more solid, especially when zoomed in closely to a massive fight. CS:S doesn't drop HORRIFIC amounts of frames whenever a major physics event is triggered (Read: office is now playable even with 28players in the server and grenades going off in the cubicles!)
