So what's the big-name game everyone is picking up tomorrow? Godzilla: Save the Earth? Killzone? The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age? Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal? Or are you saving up for next week? That's the downside to this incredibly busy season; here are some games, anticipated to be top-tier titles, that are lost in between Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Halo 2. At least when I finally get around to back-tracking, maybe their prices will have dropped.

PS2 Nobuo Uematsu Moves On From Square Enix Musical legend Nobuo Uematsu, best known for his composition of the soundtracks for the first eight Final Fantasy's, has decided to depart Square Enix. Beginning with Final Fantasy IX, Uematsu had become less and less involved with the soundtracks, culminating to this departure (he is only composing one track for FFXII). He will now start-up his own company, called "Smile Please," which will work on future game compositions, live concerts, and put an increased focus on his band, the Black Mages. In a message to his fan club, he said "It's not like I had any issues with Square Enix. I just wanted to work at my own pace. I'm leaving the company on good terms."
PS2 Resident Evil 4 Coming to PS2 Despite originally being announced as a GameCube exclusive, Capcom revealed that they are porting the much-anticipated sequel to the PlayStation 2. Nintendo will still have a large lead on its release, as it's currently slated for a January 2005 release and the PS2 port won't hit until the end of that year. Capcom made the decision based on worldwide fan requests, market considerations, and shareholder requests.
Xbox Street Fighter Recall in Japan Capcom has recalled all copies of its recently released Street Fighter Anniversary Collection in Japan due to a bug in the game. The bug happened to be that the game isn't region-coded and it plays just fine on any Xbox in the world, even its Xbox Live capabilities. In effort to prevent American gamers from importing the game before its February release, Capcom has issued the recall and refuses to comment on the region-free coding of the game.
NDS 4-Player Multiplayer Confirmed for Animal Crossing DS The feature that all fans were hoping for has now been officially confirmed: Animal Crossing DS will support up to four players simultaneously. While Animal Crossing on the GameCube was enjoyable when played alone, many felt the experience could've been exponentially greater with realtime multiplayer. The only other detail revealed is that players will chat via the touch screen.
Xbox MechAssault 2 Limited Edition Microsoft Game Studios announced MechAssault 2 Limited Edition. Although it will still retail for $49.95, same as the standard version, it'll come packed with a making-of featurette that includes interviews of Day 1 developers and footage of the developmental process. On top of that, it will include two exclusive maps.
PS2 Xbox Alien Hominid Dated The indy-developed game, Alien Hominid, now has an official release date. Publisher O~3 Entertainment announced that the game will be available in-stores on November 16th for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. It will retail for $29.99.
PS2 No Altered Beast for the US Sega confirmed today that they do not plan to release the new Altered Beast game here in the US. It still plans to release it in Japan as Project Altered Beast. According to Game Informer, Sega has a new policy that is forcing them to be more stingy regarding what titles they ship overseas.
