So here's one for you guys to ponder.

In Empire Strikes Back, when they're getting ready to put Han in the carbonite chamber and Chewie starts tossing stormtroopers of the edge and basically going nuts, Boba Fett takes aim, but Darth Vader stops him from firing.

What is Darth's motivation for doing that? Why wouldn't he just let Boba bust a cap in the Wookie's ass and be done with it? I really can't come up with a good reason (at that point in the series) why the character's actions would lead him to doing that.

Worst case scenario:

The Electoral College ends up tied 269-269 (http://www.slate.com/id/2108751/) in which case the House of Representatives will break the tie and choose Bush as president since the House is controlled by Republicans.

This is bad, and in itself would cause much anger and consternation among Democrats who would claim that Bush "stole" two elections in a row. But in order to achieve the worst case scenario we need to add the following factor:

Kerry wins the popular vote.

In this case the Electoral College would be even, Kerry would have the popular vote, but Bush would still become the president.

Riots anyone?

Anyone know of any good ASP.NET hosting companies? I've seen tons of php/mysql/etc ones here and on SA, but nothing for ASP.NET. I don't need a ton of space or transfer.

Has anyone ever bought a domain name from someone else? Some guy has the one I want just redirecting to his main site at a different URL. Assuming he wants to sell, can they just transfer it to my name?

Watched "Dawn of the Dead" remake last night. One thing I was disappointed with was the total lack of topless zombie girls.

Other than that - decent movie - would recommend.

Also did anyone think it was silly when the andy the zombie gunner wrote nothing in blood and showed it to the people looking through the binoculars - that would imply recognition! and we'd be back to square 1 with the doctor in the underground army base!

I won't even promise to make this a regular deal, but I've been digging through old PC game CDs and been lovin some of the gaming that still runs.

Couple weeks ago I posted about how excited I was that Dungeon Keeper was running under Windows XP. Man I love that game. All you need is a couple L10 Mistresses and you can just steamroll anybody. I was even able to dig up some patches off old FTP sites to fix the AI (the 1.0 release's AI had a really bad problem with running out of money).

This week, I dug up Battlezone, perhaps one of the most underrated FPS/RTS hybrid games ever, and one that came to market long before many others. Flying over Mars and Venus in your hovertank while issuing orders for resource collection and unit building in a tight, clean interface.... ahhh yessssss

Battlezone always stood out in my mind because it just felt right. Zipping over a lower-grav surface in a hovertank, the ground whizzing by at just the right speeds, timing your hoverjet thrusts to do some crazy terrain jumping, the dialogues between missions from the soldiers who were fighting the war keeping the immersion level high... and the Flash Cannon cutting through enemy units like a knife through warm buttaaa.

I did not want this, as I can't afford it and I'm still on my parents' plan until I'm finished with college. As interested as I am in getting WoW when it comes out, I don't think I'm going to play in the open beta. I've got Halo2 to work on, and that's going to keep me busy for a while, and probably for the extent of the WoW beta. It's only supposed to be like 2 weeks right?

Its trully amazing that the guy who gets slammed for his "racist" views and excessive fear of communism becomes one of the more liberal of the Republican party in the 80's and 90's. Now the Republican party rides itself into office on one principle: We are the Christian Party.
