Counter-Strike Update Plans
by Maarten Goldstein, Oct 27, 2004 6:31am PDTCS-Nation has a comment from Valve's Erik Johnson, who tells us what to expect update wise when it comes to Counter-Strike: Source. More maps, updated player models, it's all coming.
We're working on porting some more of the classic maps right now, currently de_prodigy is in the works. We'll be releasing this as quickly as they are completed. We're also working on one original map, which will begin internal playtesting this week. This still means we have a fair amount of work to do on it. We're also working on two updated player models. Most of this is scheduled to be released in the December timeframe.

1. What's up with the netcode? Am I the only one who has really crappy game play even with sub 40 pings?
2. What's up with server connecting? Why does it take so long to connect?
3. Does the game run like crap for anyone else on a P4 3.2ghz/512MB/ATI9800 pro with the default settings?
4. Having never played on the PC, is the game really as full of puds as it seems from the couple of servers I tried last night? Xbox didn't really have any issues with tools playing online....

I really don't understand why they left this one out. Was there some sort of cs_militia backlash that took place after I stopped playing? Seems like a no-brainer to include this one on the first go-around... Not only did they neglect to do that, but it hasn't even been announced as a part of the plan... WTF?
I want to start playing again, but I really want to be able to enjoy the map that introduced me to CS and made me love it. This may sound stupid, but I won't be buying HL2 or CS:S unless this happens. Not that I'm protesting... I just don't have as much time to play games as I used to, and I need something to instantly tap into my addiction nerve to get me playing again...

de_nuke - that was always fun, fucking the Ts up through the duct work :)
Some map with a big dam - god I got sniped a lot there
Some map where you start outside near a CT van, I think hostages were involved. That was always crazy fun.
