I have 8 NES systems at my disposal, and I plan to host a tournament with them. I need a list of the 10 most popular multiplayer NES games ever made.
They can be coop or head-to-head, but they have to be instantly recognized by title and world-renowned for skill and fun. No little-known eclectic titles here, please. I also prefer games with a level-based design.
I'll start the list:
Tetris
Dr. Mario
SMB3
Thanks guys. If this pulls through, it'll be a huge publicity event for the place I work at, and you'll all get pics/divx of it.

Those who havent yet played this insanely good flash game yet should consider doing so. It's not perfect, especially since the save/load database is often broken for hours on end, but apart from that it's insanely great fun. I have a little over 20million points by now and I'm about 3k ft deep.
It's very much similar to the old DOS game Miner (not manic miner, just miner) but with cute little graphics and a couple of nice surprises the deeper you go.
And you get a great sense of accomplishment whenever you can afford a cool new upgrade.
The only downside apart fom the buggy saving system is the fact that it's a MASSIVE timesink. More than any MMORPG I've played. Hell, more than fallout 2 and planescape: torment...

I was hoping for none. Zero. Nip. Nada.
I turned it on, loaded up a little freeware dead pixel checker and gazed upon pure white screens, pure black screens, etc.
One big fat dead pixel about an inch up and to the right of the center of the screen. Clearly visible.
Son of a fucking bitch...
For a few hours I convinced myself that honestly, one pixel isn't that big of a deal, but fuck.. it would have been nice for it to have been perfect.
I decided to go to bed and slightly out of frustration as I stood up I brushed the back of my finger against the dead pixel to spite it. My way of saying "fuck you, you can't win. I won't even notice you."
The dead pixel shifted, dropped off the monitor, and floated downwards like the spect of grime that it was.
I am a winner tonight and it feels good. My dead pixel was a piece of dust or something. And now the internet knows about it.
(p.s. this monitor is unfuckingbelievablyawesome)

It totally distracts from the main reason I'm watching Gilmore Girls in the first place. :/

All I know is, when there's a pause in a song and I don't have to being drumming, I dance around like an idiot. Man, this game rocks, I think I'm gay for it.
If only it had online play.
P.S. king_darius, we must get together to partake in monkey drumming goodness.

I have many things I don't like about books. First, I don't like the medium. Good books are heavy and uncomfortable to hold. I have to constantly shift my position to get comfortable while reading. If I get tired, I find it hard to keep my eyes tracking evenly. Finally, I find it hard to read the text in a lot of books. I find myself jumping around too much. This is not a big deal on a casual fiction but reading political books is a pain in the ass -- I get lost easily. I can read quite quickly and understand things I read very easily. I just don't like doing it! Another thing with the medium is paper. I really hate the feel of paper. Just thinking about touching paper, cardboard, using a pencil on paper ... ugh, I have goose bumps like I just heard nails on a chalkboard.
Then, I also find books to be boring. I loved the stories of Les Mis (even though it was so retarded), Counte of Monte Cristo, 1984, and so many others. However, when I am reading, that is ALL I am doing. There is a reason I have 4 monitors on my PC. I can't just have one thing going at a time.
So this is why I love audio books. Granted, they are quite a bit slower then just going straight to the text. Also, its harder to go back over points. Luckily, I am an auditory learner SO I remember things I hear in the audio book just as well as if I was reading it. Good stuff! On top of that, I can do more then one thing while I am listening to an audio book. I listened to Bill O'Reilly's Who's looking out for you tonight. I was able to get my room picked up, do some computer stuff, shack, and play CS:S. I need more audio books, seriously. If you are in the same boat as I am, this old solution might be something to consider.

I had a Dreamcast, then a GameCube & Xbox. I did not care about Sony at all. And yet, it's hit critical mass and I've cracked. Welcome me to the fold for tonight was my first night with my new mini PS2:
2.5 hours: Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne- holy shit, gonna go back for more after this post
1.5 hours: Zone of the Enders 2- the meaning of hectic anime mecha action...thank you Hideo Kojima
1 hour: Parappa the Rapper 2- friends are over/ time to be silly
1 hour: Katamari Damacy- more silliness
Tomorrow, it's going to be Culdcept, Magic Pengel and yet more SMT:N
It was worth all the $$$ :)

Just when I thought they'd spend an entire season in the past fighting those time travelling aliens.. I guess the producers finally realized that everyone hates time travel episodes.

Some of you are aware that some shacker have websites. This is you way of possibly gaining some google street cred. We all know how google works, the more people linking to your site the higher your ranking will be, so join the SLEEP and get your site noticed!
You may be saying to yourself "Wow this is cool! how much does it cost!?" Well my shack friend, its FREE! All you need to do is head on over to www.overburn.ca/links.php and click on "Add A Link" Please try to fit your link into one of the categories already listed there and if your site contains materials that are NWS please use the NWS category, for all others please choose "Other" and create a category but keep it generic so that we dont have 1440918101984819 categories each with one site underneath it.
The next step is to add the SLEEP Links page to your website. You can do this by using the super-cool script that ZeroSignal wrote which is available here http://www.overburn.ca/shacklinks.rar which has a variable to display all links or links minus the NWS link. This is written in PHP and automagically gets the SLEEP entries from the main database which is updated daily. Currently there are two ways to view the SLEEP entries, you can see the examples here http://www.overburn.ca/links/parser/ .
You can also use the SLEEP RSS feed which is located here http://www.overburn.ca/links/rss.php for all the links and http://www.overburn.ca/links/wsrss.php for only the WS links. The RSS feed is of course live and generated automatically with the most current SLEEP database.
STEP 3: ?????
Step 4: PROFIT!
What I would like to ask one of your artsy dudes/dudettes to perhaps make up some CSS to beautify the output that is generated by the shacklinks.rar scripts, I would do this myself but I totally suck at that kind of stuff.
So what are you waiting for? Join the ShackLinks Extreme Exchange Program Today!

Anyway, currently we use TW Cable for broadband. However, I want to see if the DSL might be stronger. Cable is nifty to be sure, but online gaming is hit-or-miss. I'd rather have a set connection through DSL. Is there a site that will give me availability based on an address? SBC's sign up page wants a phone number to check availability, and I have no way of knowing what the phone number is going to be for our new apartment.

Brought my pc into work, and I'd like to access shared files on the machines here but my PC isn't joined to the domain. I tried //x.x.x.x/ and then putting in my domain login but it just acts like I'm putting the wrong password in. And of course VPN'ing isn't working since I'm inside the network.
Suggestions? I hate to resort to sneakernet.
