Late Night Consoling
by Alec Matias, Oct 13, 2004 8:00pm PDTSome rather decent and outstanding titles making it into Nintendo's Player's Choice lineup. I'm typically the kind of person that buys a game on release day and if I can't get into it right away, I hold on to it till I'm ready. This usually means I own all the titles that end up on those Choice/Greatest/Platinum lists. However, I've also become enamored with some games that I didn't feel like paying full price for; Final Fantasy X, Sly Cooper, etc. I would suggest checking out Animal Crossing. It's game my girlfriend and I have sunk literally hundreds of hours into. For most gamers, at $50, they'd pass over this. For $20, you just can't lose... unless you need that money for an operation or something.
| | New Additions to the Player's Choice Lineup Six new titles have been added to Nintendo's Player's Choice series of games, qualifying them as the cream of the crop for its GameCube system. The six titles are Animal Crossing (with memory card), Kirby Air Ride, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Super Mario Sunshine, and Wario World. Find them now at your local retailer for $20 each. |
| | Free Music with The Urbz If you're one of the first 700,000 buyers of EA's upcoming The Urbz: Sims in the City, you'll receive a special card that gets you free music downloads on iTunes. Can't pick any music, though. You'll get four tracks performed by Black Eyed Peas, who are lending their music and likeness for the game. One track will be a never-before-released song, in English, and will be accompanied by one of their prior hits, "Let's Get It Started." The other two tracks are versions of those songs spoken in Simlish, the gibberish language of all Sims games. |
| | This Week's Releases Yet another busy release week going on with the highlight title being none other than Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. On the multi-console front, we have BloodRayne 2 (PS2, Xbox), FIFA Soccer 2005 (PS2, Xbox, GCN, PSone, GBA), and Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (PS2, Xbox, GCN). The PS2 gets King of Fighters: Maximum Impact, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, and Under The Skin. Xbox sees Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders. |

New Intelligent Qube?
The eagle-eyes over at 1up noticed Sony Computer Entertainment has registered a trademark on I.Q. Mania. Could this be the latest title in the Intelligent Qube series? Or maybe just a compilation of past titles?
