The first Rome: Total War patch has been released, updating Creative Assembly's latest strategy game to v1.1. The 10mb update fixes several multiplayer issues that have been plaguing the game. Thanks 3D Gamers.

  • I played 2 matches right after this patch came out.

Replays are still broken (they diverge from what actually happened, but connecting to the lobby and games seems fairly solid now.

There were alot of games I couldn't connect to ("failed to connect to host"), but that could have been a case of people not configuring their firewalls right.

The broken replays thing was a bug that was in MTW and was eventually fixed. RTW has been in development since before MTW was released, so it's expected this will be fixed.

One of the matches I played was great. Sucks that the replay is totally wrong. Another gripe is that the replays don't save player names...so all chat looks like it is coming from the player who did the recording (albeit color coded for each team which makes it even more bizarre that names aren't saved)
