Alien Hominid Q&A
by Alec Matias, Oct 06, 2004 8:30am PDTPlenty of attention has been given to Alien Hominid recently and it appears to be deserving of every bit of it. Gamers are intrigued by its "old-school" charm, offering a fresh experience on a classic gameplay style. I was able to recently chat it up with The Behemoth's John Baez as he covers all the bases of Alien Hominid.
Check out the whole Q&A here.Shack: Does your game pay homage to or take inspiration from any of the old-school 2D shooters? John Baez: From Tom, the game designer: "I would say most of the inspiration comes from Contra, Gunstar Heroes and Metal Slug. Gunstar Heroes is my favorite among the three, but there are bits of pieces of AH that pay homage to each of those games."

Best of luck.
I really, really hope this is well-executed. Indie console games are an extremely rare thing, and I'd like to support it.

The idea of collectible, "designer" games is intriguing. I'd call Parappa the Rapper one of the first, being based on Rodney Greenblatt's artwork, but a company dedicated to bringing out just designer games.. neato!
