I played on XBL today and it was ... well ... crap. Either I am missing something or player 1 whow as ranked in the top 100 was a cheater. I started in 2nd place and even though we were racing fucking COUPES he took off like he was in a god damned super series. It was crazy. Barely into the race, it said I was 23 seconds behind him. I did some of the other XBL matches and ... well maybe with shackers? I can hope, right?
Okay, so back to single player. I finished unlocking all the crash mode vehicals. So I have the Bus and the Fire Truck and all of that. So fucking what? I can't take these to the streets or even race my roomate with it. Now I feel like I wasted my time ... more so then normal. I have unlocked every race, eliminator, face off, road rage, and GP I can. The only thing I have left are special events and preview laps. There are more of the others to go, but I can't get past all of these god damned preview laps and burn in laps and special event crap. I know I am getting better but I am not having fun at it. Its just driving me crazy.
Why do all racing games have to do this shit? I will say at least in mario kart DD I was always having fun, even though I had to keep playing the 150CC and Mirror modes over and over again.

I'm going to buy some Rogaine this week, and start using it.
My hair has always been super thick and wavy and plentiful. The last six months I've been noticing a lot of hair on my pillow (more than just a few strands) and it feels a little thinner on "the spot" (the area where many men get bald spots).
So what the hell. No shame. I don't want to lose my hair. Does this preventative stuff really work?
P.S - My father has thick hair, as did his father, but my mother's father had a huge bald spot from the age of 40 on :(

Burnout 3 is Crack. They took my two favorite past times from GTA. Wild Crashes and wrecking the shit out of cars.. I could care less about racing. though the wrecks to make them more challenging..
I'd have to say thumbs up on both titles.

I blew about an hour and a half today learning to single life Stage 1 and one credit Stage 2. Afterwards I played through and made it upto 4.1 before I ran out of credits. I guess the added credits gave me enough lives to beat stage 3 on the first try, but I'll just have to learn it better tomorrow after class.
I wish the shooter genre wasn't on the verge of dying. I was never really into them back in my NES/Gensis days, but they've really grown on me since Ikaruga and R-Type Final (which does seem to suck compared to the others I've played). Anyone have any recommendations of good ones to play on emu?

We didn't know how he was going to do it, but we stood outside with our party-favor fake machine guns and pseudo-rocket launchers that we'd been given to use as the AA to defend this shed. After a bunch of small planes went by, a B-52 starts to roar overhead, and we all go nuts "shooting" at it, thinking that's gotta be him, and from the other direction a Japanese torpedo bomber straight out of BF1942 swoops in and gets the "kill" on the shed. Turns out the torpedo bomber is piloted by Rosewood, with Tomservo in the gunner's seat, and the B-52 was just a remote-controlled plane used to distract us. As they fly away at the end of the bombing run, Rosewood skims the deck so that Tomservo can get kills on all of us with the bomber's tail gunner "machine guns," also fake.
We bitch that he didn't really win because Rosewood was flying, and anyway you're not supposed to use the torpedo bombers like dive bombers, but in reality we were just mad that he not only fooled us with the R/C B-52, he also got kills on all of us with the tailguns.

Most of both armies were made up of Light Armor men but each of us had a section of cavalry. I on the otherhand thought I had the upperhand because my army also consisted of archers.
I didn't want to bombard them - I wanted to play defense so I could minimize loss and hopefully turn the war to even numbers before I went offensive. So -
We start the battle, I line up 100's of light men in the front of my archers and stick my cavalry off to the right side so I can flank anyone that charges me. The AI doesn't move.
I march within range of my archers and set my men up in formation. The AI doesn't move.
I then let arrows rain upon their heads (could only reach the lights) for 5 minutes. I tried switching between lit arrows and non lit to do the most damage. The AI doesn't move.
I actually ran out of arrows and only killed 60 of their men. I thought maybe the AI was frozen so I tried to circle around them. Nope they circled with me. They were playing defense and letting the clock run out. I could not attack as I was still outnumbered and they had the advantage by playing D.
They clock hit 0 and they kept their city. God bless the Gauls and Rome : Total War. I love this game!

I am creating a short Flash presentation for a client to be burned to CD-ROM.
To be safe, I think that I should design it at 800x600 just in case someone is viewing it on an older machine.
But what I am wondering is, can I design it at 1024x768 and have it scale down to 800x600?
Yes I know Flash can scale, but ideally I want them to be able to stick in the CD-ROM, it autoplays (or they double-clicker on the Launcher.exe) and it opens up Full Screen. Not in a browser window but in an .EXE
Anyone ever done that before?

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey," died peacefully at age 93.
The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin.
