The Hollywood Reporter has a story on the latest DOOM movie casting, reporting that Rosamund Pike has joined the cast. She'll play a scientist called Samantha. Pike is mostly known for her role as Miranda Frost in the James Bond movie Die Another Day. Thanks HLF.

Who will play the obligatory gay character? Hollywood loves gay characters now. They get to promote a self-described minority without having to cast blacks, latinos, asians etc for the part. They can cast the regular lineup of white guys, but make one gay and claim the movie is edgy and progressive.
