Late Night Consoling

Last night's announcement of Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus finally gives us news of a real game based off of, arguably, the best RPG of all-time. Oddly enough, it isn't an RPG! Will this be as close to Final Fantasy VII-2 as we'll get? Judging from the comments last night, a handful of you don't want to see the original tainted anymore than it has been. I'm of the belief that if it's good, who cares, but I'm also of the belief that Final Fantasy X-2 was a stupid mistake. Anyway, despite a few of the past Tokyo Game Shows coming and going with little to no fanfare, this one is shaping up to be quite the event. I expect to be pretty busy the end of next week.

ps2 PStwo Around the Corner? The internet is abuzz with the rumor that a redesigned PS2, sporting a 30% decrease in size, could hit the market as early as October 26. Currently dubbed "PStwo," it would ship alongside Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, hoping to give incentive to gamers to purchase San Andreas with a PlayStation 2 instead of an Xbox with Halo 2, which ships two weeks after GTA:SA. An interesting note is that we would not see a price reduction; it would still retail for $150. With the Tokyo Game Show about a week away, it may provide the ideal venue to announce the system.
GBASP "Who Are You?" GBA SP Coming Soon US gamers finally get more of a variety in the custom-colored/designed GBA SPs. This time around, it's an onyx GBA SP with "Who Are You?" written on the top in a graffiti style. It will retail for $79.99, like all other GBA SPs, and will sell through select retailers in October. As of right now, Wal-Mart is the only confirmed retailer. It must be a hard decision for those who must choose between this and the Tribal SP.
