BioWare Licenses Unreal Engine 3

you'd expect a rpg from bioware. but it's the ue3. isn't it more an engine for fps?!

Those shots have a nice "indirect lighting" feel to them. Anyone know how they're doing this (simulated, precalculated, dynamic)?
I wonder how long until we see real-time indirect lighting in 3d engines.
