Oblivion Not Unreal Powered
by Maarten Goldstein, Sep 15, 2004 9:23am PDTThere had been some rumors of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion using the Unreal Engine 3, and if you've seen the screenshots in Game Informer that certainly didn't seem unlikely. The GI article didn't mention the engine however, so we asked Bethesda if they're using in-house tech or licensed the Unreal engine and got this answer "We're not licensing the Unreal 3 engine".

I was hoping it was Unreal Engine 3.0... then it would be one less map editor to learn.
Oh well.. still looks damn nice.
