Godzilla: Save the Earth Q&A
by Alec Matias, Sep 15, 2004 9:00am PDTAtari appears confident that their upcoming monster brawler, Godzilla: Save the Earth (PS2, Xbox), will do even better than its predecessor, which sold over 400,000 copies. They're so confident, in fact, that it will release inbetween Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Halo 2. I find out what makes this game so special be chatting with Atari's senior public relations manager, Matt Frary.
Check out the whole Q&A here.Shack: What are other specific improvements over the original Godzilla fighter that are being implemented? Matt Frary: Well, there's quite a bit - ONLINE, ONLINE, ONLINE! Yes, up to 4 players in an online match. That's pretty major for both Xbox and PS2. There aren't too many online fighters available -- especially with 4 player battles -- and those that are planned, aren't anything like Godzilla. Besides that, improved character models and skins, more detailed cities with better textures and elevation, more and larger buildings and better environmental effects ...

Locobastard and I put in some decent time on the first one and it was alot of fun. Wrasslin' + destroying cities, not really that tough to see why. However, added depth, more unlockables and online play sounds very very hot. Like wet level hot.
One of the great things about Godzilla: Save the Earth is that each monster’s fighting style and abilities are really unique from one another – there are completely different strengths and weaknesses and strategies for fighting as Orga versus fighting as Baragon, for example.
