Daikatana For Christmas

With all the crazyness that came out with word that Daikatana may possibly not be making Christmas, GameSpot has this blurb from an Eidos rep stating that they are in fact still targetting a completion before the end of the year although the game is not completed just yet.

...A spokesperson for the company says that the game has not officially gone gold, as "new versions of the game arrive every day." The company remains firm in their insistence that the game will ship in time for Christmas (December 25).
There is a Daikatana shindig going down on the 17th of this month here in Dallas which I'll be showing up at so If I find out anything about the game I'll make sure and let you guys know. As much as Daikatana gets slapped around for the goofy PR they do with trademarking 'Suck It Down' etc I'm still very anxious to play the game. Romero is no slouch, and if the game does come out in his vision, I'm sure it will be good. The question being if the revolving door of staff changes on the team can make his vision.

  • Only the fact that this game will have 4 completely different worlds with a set of different weapons (25 in all?) is REALLY nice. What else will compete with it during the holidays? Opposing Force may be nice, but it costs the price of a full game and only lasts for a dozen hours. And god, It\'s still Half Life.

If it\'s not too buggy- (which could be the case ... since Eidos rejected the gold they submitted last week... and as far as I know.. Eidos SURE isn\'t reknowned for their sparkling clean bug-free products. They may just go the easy \"it\'s in an acceptable state, we\'ll just patch it later\" way).-
    then..
    I\'m buying it..

The hell with multiplayer only games. Fuck the net.. I want my thrills back.

  • I\'m retarded? Only for bothering to post here. Ok idiots (#35 & #36), what I was saying is that Daikatana is the first game in a long time to SHIP with all that stuff - so don\'t tell me \"mod this and mod that make up for it\" the point remains valid. OpFor is not a stand alone game, nor is TFC - both are \"mods\" of an original game. DK will SHIP with all those game modes and the other goodies.

Plus, you haven\'t even seen Daikatana at all - you saw a demo MONTHS ago that was multiplayer only. I HAVE seen it, hell, I have the 11/29 version on my f**king hd...so piss off. Once you know what you\'re talking about, then you can toss out any lame comments you like.
