Hrmm... So far, 3 downloads which equals to almost 3gb of HL2 data on anyone's PC. If it was any other game than HL2 I'd say "we're going gold soon boys", but, yeah..........

Release candidate is being delivered next Wednesday (TENTATIVE DATE!!!!!). So what the heck is a release candidate you ask? I HAVE NO CLUE. Does it mean VU can delay the game? It's all possible. Worthlessness of this post? 98.4329901%.

Hey, WTF happened to you load the beginning of the game and load the rest as you go along? If they segregate all the data this way (and not chronologically) then when some moe buys it and wants to "instant play" as was touted, then he is fuxored...

If they let you download 4Gb of data, I'm glad they do it in bits and pieces and not 4G in a single session. The way they do it now is much easier on their bandwidth and when the time comes to go gold, those who have preloaded can be playing as soon as possible.

the sad thing is that some retail stores will break the street date, so there will be a 1 or 2 day period where you can get the game in a few select stores but you won't be able to get it on steam.

So we have textures/art assets, audio assets, models. That pretty much leaves levels and then game code and thats it. Of course those 2 are fairly important/significant so its hard to tell where the release stands...
