DOOM 3 Movie Update
by Maarten Goldstein, Sep 10, 2004 7:11am PDTAccording to this Variety story throug Yahoo News, the original director of the upcoming DOOM movie has left the project "due to personal reasons". Replacing Enda McCallion will be Andrzej Bartkowiak, who previously directed movies like Cradle 2 the Grave, Exit Wounds and Romeo Must Die. Movie production is still scheduled to start mid-October.

Ok, they were lame in Cradle 2 The Grave… it just seemed forced… but Exit Wounds wasn't bad…

And I really wanted to see some imp gibs. The problem is the game gives them an excuse to put absolutely no gore in the movie, if they can manage it, because the enemies disnitegrate instead of getting wasted the good old fashioned way.

Hell, he doesnt even know what to do at times and wanders over to the President's crash site/Quake II pod anyone and sits down! He has to fight a couple of bosses guy in the ring/Duke of New York and there is the climactic escape in the end.
I dunno, a purely action type movie with a thin plot could be done... although with this announcement it certainally doesnt sound good >:(
