26As promised, the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War demo is now available. The 319mb demo comes with a tutorial, a full mission from the game and two skirmish maps. I also got the feeling that I should have been able to zoom out more, but apart from that it's looking like a kick ass game.
Its pretty fun although i'd like the camera to be higher.

GODDAMN the battles are fun to watch. I saw an assault squad (the jetpack guys) completely annihilate an orc squad and when the final guy in the orc squad charged the sergeant of my squad took his sawblade and EXECUTED the orc in a single motion. It dropped to its knees in front of my sergeant with the rest of the squad in a semicircle around it.
The force commanders KICK FUCKING ASS. Enemies FLY when they are struck.
When artillery strikes hit the ground enemies fly backward large distances and there's a crater left in the ground.
I'm not a big RTS fan, but I predict MUCH FUN with this game :D

Oh and I am on the torrent and the fileshack download and it looked like they'd both be done w/in 10 mins of each other even though the torrent was showing 1.5x the download speed. 0__o
That's what I don't get about torrents. Plus they make me upload too.

Currently, the default texture settings for Team Color are optimized to account for AGP bandwidth issues that may occur during online multiplayer games with more than 4 players.
To over-ride this extra level of mip dropping and view the team colors at maximum texture quality, add the following line to your Root\Local.ini file:
fullres_teamcolour=1
Please note that this setting is not officially supported, and may result in severe performance issues. It should not be attempted unless you have a very high-end system (1024MB of RAM and a 256MB graphics card).

Multi worked smooth, but single player began to stutter badly after playing for a while. it was a well known issue, and if they didn't fix it i'm not bothering with this game, although it's ALOT of fun.

Pretty cool so far, I like the resources limited to simply points you have to capture, the "hero" guy was pretty cool, and the squad upgrades were very cool, taking cover in the environment is new to me. The only prob i see so far is wishing I could pull the camera out more, a little closer to the action than I'm used to. Nice graphics.
