Two Ghost Recon 2 Versions?
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 25, 2004 6:55am PDTEuroGamer is reporting that Ubisoft will be releasing two entirely different versions of Ghost Recon 2. While Ubisoft's Shanghai Studio is working on the PS2 and GameCube versions, Red Storm's North Carolina studio is developing the PC and Xbox versions. The PC and Xbox versions will be set five years after the events of the game on the other two platforms, though game mechanics and squad members will remain largely the same. For more go here.

I just assumed it was for the PC and whatever console it was being co-developed with (a-la Deus Ex: IW).
The only thing that makes me think that this video linked above ISN'T for the PC, is the fact that they say "The PC and Xbox versions will be set five years after the events of the game on the other two platforms, though game mechanics and squad members will remain largely the same." Because the game mechanics in that video are not even close to being the same as my wonderful Ghost Recon 1.
Kind of an interesting development, I hope that the PC version is going to be just as (or even more) strategy/team oriented, and less like the atrocity that was Delta Force: Land Warrior.
I'll continue to say that consoles will be the end of PC Games until I see otherwise.
