Stronghold 2 Announced

Due out on PC early 2005, the siege-warfare strategy game sequel will be in full 3D. The press release promises the game will offer "enhanced multiplayer capability and a new, innovative and exciting single player campaign" with more details coming in the next few months. Stronghold and Stronghold: Crusader developer Firefly Studios will also create the sequel. You can find two screenshots right here.

But for real, DoW is doing tons of things that should of been done years ago, it looks awesome, has 4 races, it's good. It's worth the $ to get into the beta too, theres tons of people playing.

Anyway, I have high hopes for this one as well. Could turn out to be a great game, especially if the dev team learned from the mistakes of the previous game.
If you've played Lords of the Realm though, the combat was fairly similar.
Advancing through the story was just a basic linear path leading you through Conquering England (no Scotland :(). Crusaders path was just 30 or so strung together missions with less of a coherent story.
Both excellent games which are now available on budget.
