I'm sure the story will be great, and the additional 20 skills or whatever they are programming back into the exact same code they used for KOTOR 1... but, I'll be spending my money on Fable and Masquerade. Sorry Lucasarts, but sequels are supposed to sound better, look better, and play better. KOTOR 2 looks like someone used CTRL+C and CTRL+V a hell of alot.

I can't get over the fact how bad these screenshots look. Someone else here made a comment on how this "almost looks like a completely different game". Are you freaking kidding me?
I mean, seriously, what's with the repetetive indoor environments they keep showing off? Could the following screenshot look any more like crap?

Then take a look at this:

Ignoring the fact that 50% of the screenshot is black void, the spaceship looks funny...and not in a good way. I could have made a better spaceship, and screenshot for that matter, in a couple of hours.
Are the public relations people on crack? I just don't get how people could select so many screenshots that look so unbelieably bad and feel like it's a good idea to release them to the public.
And then don't come saying "well, wait till you played the game idiot". Here's the thing: this reminds me so much of Jedi Academy it ain't even funny. That game had a few good looking levels, yet most of it didn't even end up meeting some of the high points in Jedi Outcast, and the game was such a cheap rip-off in general that even the tiny bits of creativity weren't able to distract from the fact that it was nothing but cashing in on the original...for a hefty $50 price tag.
When I saw KOTOR screenshots showing off Tatooine (both the detailed town as well as the open desert) for the first time, I knew then that it was a game I absolutely had to play. And throughout, the game's looks and atmoshphere never disappointed, from Manaan overworld to Dantooine everything looked fresh, detailed and exciting.
In fact, the entire game of KOTOR2 looks like the last portion of the game in the original KOTOR, with its annoying dark environments that had about as much detail as a Quake 2 map. Almost everything looks wrong, and the tiny bits and pieces that are bearable happen to be stuff carried over from the original.
Hey, I'm still giving this game a chance. But things better look 3 times as good come 2005, or else.

But just looking at the screens th words "lazy" and "boring" come to mind. And mind you, i do feel content is important but in the days of FC D3 visuals is it too much to ask for some at least 2004 graphics?
I just feel cheated, thats all. Who the fuck cares if the game comes out 1 year later? Release it 3 years later when you can add something NEW to it. Graphical tweaks? Make the whole game seem different? You're an idiot... you can make your own graphical tweaks by modifying the .ini. It's a tweak, thats all.
Republic Commando and Battlefront are holding my attention... KOTOR II will need to boast some pretty amazing features if they expect my income (Considering I bought the first one in Jan 04')
This is the exact same reason why I didn't even worry about Splinter Cell: PT... granted it had MP, which was cool, but the single player game was basically identical. Now a 3rd one is being made, for release within 6 months I believe.
I'm all about games progressing quickly and being released promptly, but if you are releasing a "sequel" in less than one year... how much can they really improve the series?
