According to this post and various replies in the thread, Sony Online Entertainment has started to ban a lot of people in Star Wars Galaxies due to so called credit duping. Instead of just punishing the people who were cheating, it seems players who have received credits from the cheaters even if they don't know those people at all, are being banned as well.

  • Further elaboration of the suspensions from Blair below... people who are found not to be involved after further investigation will have their accounts reopened.
Seems to me like they had to suspend all potential dupers quickly in one sweep to stop the proliferation of these duped credits. Those found to be innocent will have their accounts reopened early next week, at the latest.

People who have been banned or suspended are going through the appeals process now. Each case is resolved privately between the customer and customer service. The appeals process will be complete by early next week.

Over 75% of the duped credits are being removed from the economy preventing hyper-inflation in the SWG economy.

No vendor owners were suspended for purchases made from their vendor with duped credits, only people that had money directly transferred to them were affected.
