Battlefield Vietnam WW2 Mod Released

As promised Electronic Arts has released the World War 2 mod for Battlefield Vietnam. The 300mb download includes three Pacific Theatre maps from Battlefield 1942, using the Battlefield Vietnam engine for improved graphics and also adding a flame thrower.

The WW2 mod is a partial conversion of the original Battlefield 1942 to the updated engine of Battlefield Vietnam. The most popular maps of the Pacific Theater have been transferred to the new engine. This theater comes to life like never before using the overgrowth and undergrowth that made BFV such a hit. All of the characters, weapons, and vehicles have also been redone to make use of the advanced BFV rendering engine. The original BF1942 content married to the gameplay tweaks introduced in BFV combine to create a whole new Battlefield experience.

I would so pay for an expansion pack that adds all of the bf1942 maps to BFV's engine. WW2 is just a much more playable war.

Okay... LOVING it so far...

The one thing that I miss so far about 1942 over this mod is the water.. I LOVE in Wake on 1942 how the water is bright and the sun glistens off of it.... I like that much better than the dark Vietnam water.

wtf happened to the engine between 1942 and vietnam?

To me 1942 has better gfx then vietnam!! Vietnam has more polygons on teh screen but the image quality is horrendous in comparison.

I've been having fun playing these maps :D

But I don't know if it's just me...but is the MP40 extremely weak while the Thompson is extremely strong?

Also the grenade animation problem is kinda annoying....your character does the animation of throwing the grenade, then a second later a grenade just flys out.

But anyway this is pretty cool, i'll just stick to playing US
