Too lazy to read the article. Are they running the test with the retail version of Q3, or the test/demotest?
Should make an impact on the scores...
geforce + 700 athlon =\'s way more than 38 fps at 1024 (no first hand knowledge, but shit its gotta be faster than a 650 + tnt2u)
dont ya think?
do you know if your power supply is on amd\'s (good 300watt) list
do you have lastest agp driver ( nivia card have problems on athlons )
power supply most common problem with agp close second
have PS tested at local computer shop
get lastest agp driver from amds web site
and for the love of god, show that K7 the love it needs ;-p
you cant just pop a proc in and expect it to work
you have to make sure that your muliplyer and voltage settings are right and if you are using 10ns ram make sure your FSB is 66mhz
and man what it does for q2 117fps crazy fast
Could you explain that?
make sure you install the motherboards drivers into windows
thats the best way to clean it all up
196meg of ram and Diamond viper 770 tnt2 ultra. ANYONE know how to get the damn system stable enough to do anything.
started with a fresh harddrive and the latest bioes and drivers and it crashes every 5 min. Can not figure this out. Move data error and Page faults out the ass.
think about takeing the crap back and going Intel (ICK) but I realy want to keep the K 7
thanks

probaly is
maybe romero is trying to get people to look at it and debug it for him
he enjoys copying andpasting other peoples work on this forum
youd figure he would get something new tho cuz the blitz3d code is getting old
If its drawing two frames ala an SLI mechanism, that would be handled by the cards driver. The game code will not try to draw anything twice. The game loop will remain the same for all video cards, so there shouldnt be any problem with input.
I really have no information on how the MAXX works, but what i think might might happen is that the renderering could be a bit off-synch with the game loop as the driver draws the frames slower overall or something ? Thats the only side-effect i can think of from what you are saying.
go to a store that gives you 30 day return policy, buy a VIPER II, play Q3 and you will not return the card.that simple.
