So I just got got back from QuakeCon and for those of you attending we've got a couple of things going. First of all the 'Shacker' section is reserved now and marked. As you walk in the doors to the BYOC it is the first two tables on your right side. Nice and easy to spot. Secondly, we'll have a local LAN copy of FileShack running for everyone to access that will be carrying all the event files and of course our regular file library. Here's some stuff:

- DVD player profits? What profits? - Guys, experienced surgeons are better FYI. - Kobe's rape accuser files a civil suit. - Gross dude! Your desk is NASTY!
Lastly, the world's deepest hole

I dunno if you guys know about this game yet, it's pretty fun. It's an online Baseball game... kind of RPG like. You set up a player, choose which attributes he excels in with XP, then you go out and play as a level 0 and build XP by making plays, like getting runners out, getting hits, etc. With that XP.. you can use on better attributes, different pitches, and beefing up your batters strike zone. So of course, it gets addicting.

I dunno if this is the first game that lets you play any position you want, but it's the first I've played that lets you do that. It's not 1 on 1 where you control the whole team, its you, with up to 9 other people on a team playing every position. Usually it's 6 on 6, since CPU players can play outfield. Though the AI is fairly retarded.

The controls are really easy... WSAD and the mouse control everything, holding the left mouse button will catch and throw, right mouse button adjusts your swing power/contact. Really simple.

It's still beta, and it shows. There are many "bugs", like if you slide head first.. it actually takes about a second longer to reach base, so there are many tag outs when people do that. Lots of times when running bases, the foward and reverse buttons will switch, and well, that gets hairy. But once you learn all the bugs, you learn to play well and live with them.

The "GM", or admins, and just the elitist players in general can be total tools. Like 8 year olds, some players will threaten to get a GM for almost any reason. This guy wouldn't ready up because we had one more "CNTY" player than him, which is a level range, (CITY, CNTY, STAT, etc.), so we told him we aren't going to rearrange the teams for one silly game, and he threatens US with getting a GM. Lucky there is a kick menu where 65% majority wins.

Even though there are filters, saying **** can get you banned if the wrong person sees it. So I just avoid talking all together. This game should be really sweet once it ever gets polished... but it will be pay-for-play by that time.
