12The official Guild Wars website has this press release announcing a "World Preview Weekend" for the game. During the October 29-31 weekend, a new Guild Wars beta will be available for interested players all around the world. There press release also has word of pre-orders giving you access to monthly betas, be sure to check that out.

This is not an application-based beta.
You have to preorder the game to be able to participate in the beta.
Beta sessions will be focused on weekends so that everyone plays at around the same time, instead of always looking for teammates.
Each session will be focused on an area.
Characters might be wiped between session, but it's unlikely, I've been in the alpha for a long time and they never wiped chars yet, only equipment once.

I've played the game during the E3 For Everyone event. It was the best online game experience I had in years. I mean, I've played for several years in various Quake/2/3/CS clans but PvP in Guild Wars was just something different, fresh, action packed, skill and teamplay oriented.
Since they will have full Korean support and the servers are not split into shards I have the feeling this is going to be the next big thing in online gaming. Imagine playing in around the world tournaments and ladders with USA, Europe and Asian players :).
