LOL Horseshit. Tribes 1's competing line up at release in late 1998 was Quake 2, Half-Life, and Unreal. With what it brought to the table, it was very innovative. Jetpacks, controllable transports, command interface, new gameplay modes, open terrain environments, and a completely new approach to team tactics. Yeah, Tribes has ended up molded around the CTF portion, but that was more the community's want than the developer's decision.
