Pacific Assault Delayed
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 06, 2004 5:46pm PDTThe Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault website has been updated, featuring this announcement on the delay of the game. EA's WW2 shooter was scheduled for a September release, but will now be released in November instead. They'll use the extra development time for increased polishing and the addition of some new features.
Medal of Honor fans will benefit from some exciting additions. For the first time in the history of the series, players will be able to control their squad in the heat of battle, enjoying greater tactical maneuvering through a new feature called Combat Squad Control. With Combat Squad Control, gamers under siege can bark orders on the fly, using only a single keystroke to order squad-mates to "Advance!", "Fall Back!", "Give Suppression Fire!" or "Assemble!" We believe that adding this new feature and giving the game more time for polish will pay out. It will help us build on the integrity of one of the greatest franchises in gaming. The Pacific Assault site also has a new development diary from multiplayer level designer Jeff Zaring.

Sorry, you need more than one game and an expansion pack to count as a "franchise". And no, I'm not counting the first console game.
