Well, it looks like Dave "I killed Tribes 2" G. is up to the same old tricks. One thing for him he knows how to hype, time will tell if he allows the new stuff to be released too early and quite buggy.

they need to scrap the fucking thing already and start on a sequel. it's brilliant in many ways, but just isn't fun for long. they need a new engine that can handle real updates and variety, (and hopefully to get the gameplay goals a little more deep and satisfying next time around)

If you get with a good group of people (very easy to do, which is a break from the norm of 12 year old asshats on most fps games) then you can spend hours a day playing. Sure, it has bugs, performance problems and some really boring moments, but when its fun, its the best game ever.

Servers dead? There are 1 or 2 pop locks on every server each day at around 8gmt and the US servers get more and more busy as the night draws on. 1 locked cont = 133 people per empire, and its usually only ever locked if the enemy is there in large numbers or locking it themselves.

...good luck to Marketing and Sales, they're going to need it. Still, if AC2 can survive this long with a handful of players, I'm sure Planetside can linger on for a year at least.

I recently tried out the $10 deal on Fileplanet and found out that Planetside's still crap. Last played it during the beta and although it was shallow repetitive and buggy I thought theyÃ¢Â€Â™d manage to make a good game eventually. Unfortunately only minor tweaks and bland vehicles have been added, and the server was dead. Cancelled my sub renewal after 48 hours.
