PC.IGN has a new Half-Life 2 preview, offering impressions of what they got to play at G4's G-Phoria awards show. According to Valve's Doug Lombardi, we won't be seeing any more media from the game until release so nothing gets spoiled.

Doug specifically stated that the ATI x800 was the card of choice amongst many of the testers, as it ran roughly about 30% faster than Nvidia's best cards.

this is an article about how the X800 and the 6800s deal with HL2....i don't know who's right, but the prelim test result doesn't sync with what Doug is saying about the '30%' performance difference. <shrugs>

This game will be the BEST single player experience for a FPS when it comes out...I'm sure it'll feel very immsersive.

Not many replies but what can you expect...the whole ID vs Valve thing...people are just silly. Valve got lots of love before that whole code stealing incident...not sure why people started disliking them after that.

A classic no doubt, along with Doom 3 (both games are different though). I'm surprised that there aren't that many responses.

Stupid and pointless Doom 3 Vs Halflife threads/discussions will follow soon. I hope magazine writers will stay objective and review them as seperate games ISO comparing the two.
