Doug Lombardi confirms TF2 development. Though 'slow' it's still in the works and goes on saying: "We can't announce TF2 being on the new Source Engine because we haven't even announced HL2 yet.". At least now we know that TF2 definitly is on the Source engine (uhh like nobody knew that =), but at least we know that eventually it will come out.

From all I've been able to tell, if you want your map to get any attention you have to either pretend its a "sequel" to one of the official maps (anyone seen the pile of shit that is cs_italy2?), or make it an fy_ map (made with 50 brushes maximum) or turn into a complete graphics whore instead of bothering to make sure it plays well (*cough* de_torn *cough*).
It'd be great, now they have Steam working in a pretty good state (the recent and continual DDOS attacks aside), if they sponsored some community maps on it or something. There once was a time when they actually accepted community submissions for inclusion in the mod!
