The situation with Visual Concepts and their online component for ESPN NFL 2K5 is almost as enigmatic as Ricky Williams. On one hand, VC is doing revolutionary things that will be the standard other sports games will be measured by; I'm talking about the amazing online league website that is an accurate replica of ESPN's website, with massive stat-tracking, box scores, and interactivity that really gives you the sense that this is a real football league. Of course, that experience is completely hampered by the problems plaguing the game, such as having to restart your machine when you receive four invites. That's an awful bug that is taking quite a long time to fix. Fortunately, gamers can take solace with the fact that this is their first attempt and things can only improve from here.

PS2 Xbox Visual Concepts Addresses Online Issues The developer of ESPN NFL 2K5, Visual Concepts, has released a statement that addressed the issues many gamers are experiencing with the online component of their flagship football title. First and foremost, a server update will be taking place this Friday to fix the "login and roster problems some of you are experiencing." Unfortunately, this won't fix the challenge problems Xbox Live gamers are dealing with. VC offered a temporary fix, saying that if you're "having difficulties getting another user to accept your challenge or if you are not receiving challenges once you’ve created a match, [to] power down your Xbox and restart."

The competition is over and Crestinghawk won by a healthy margin. The final point standings are:

    28 - Crestinghawk
    23 - Shadowdane
    20 - Holesinswiss
    15 - Dolemite187
    4 - orgcaptainnemo (DNF 3/4 rounds)
    3 - Configga (DNF 3/4 rounds)
    0 - Ajax 075 (DNF 4/4 rounds - loaned Xbox)

Congratulations to Crestinghawk. He logged some impressive times each round and usually only needed a couple attempts to put everyone else out of reach.

In other RalliSport Challenge 2 news, the autoupdate for the game was released yesterday afternoon and the leaderboards were reset, so hopefully that takes care of the glitchers and shortcutters.

Also, a new feature was added to the game: "Challenges". They weren't enabled as of last night, but there is a new "Challenges" option in the Xbox Live menu. Reportedly, there will be daily, weekly, and monthly race challenges to see who can post the best times.

Last thing: Was there ever any talk of starting a Shack RalliSport team to compete in team seasons on XSN? Would anyone be interested in participating in such a team?
