CS: Source Beta News
by Maarten Goldstein, Jul 24, 2004 8:43am PDTAccording to this message by Valve's Greg Coomer, the upcoming Counter-Strike: Source beta will be a bit less limited than before. While initially only Condition Zero owners and Cybercafe partners were going to be allowed to test the game, people with a ATI Half-Life 2 coupon will now be able to get in on the fun as well. Thanks InfusionOfFear. Half-Life Radio already has some impressions posted.

people bought a ATI card up to a year ago after advertising the game coming out e.t.c,
then they try to sell more copies of a mediocre game (CS:CZ) by offering the beta to them. unbelievable, there bad choices (for reputation) is astounding.
I havent played CS for years btw, I just cant stand business's fuking with customers and showing no respect to those who paid there bills.
(dont give me that "its smart business" shit). like Sam for LOTR said " were fighting for whats good in this world, where game companies respect there fan base and realize in the end they'll have more business and a better future by treating your customers well".
point is, sure you may sell alot of copies of a game (while your in semi good standing with fans) but in the long run it'll be a permanent mark on your record. and they'll be less likely to trust you or give you money in the future. = bad business decision in the end

Wow, Sam really talked about game companies? And business ethics? That's gotta be in the extended edition, cuz I missed it. :)

I played Q3 on one of those Apple cinema display 23" monitors before. It was amazing. I set my FOV to 130 and it didn't look distorted at all.
