Battlefield Vietnam Community Update

There is a new community update on the official Battlefield Vietnam website. It mentions the 1.1 patch has been delayed, mentioning that they're adding an additional week of testing and polishing. There are also several screenshots showing off the upcoming WW2 mod, illustrating how different Wake Island, Invasion of the Philippines and Iwo Jima look compared to the BF1942 versions.

I really dont notice too much of an overall difference from the screenshots; it looks to me like bf1942 with foliage

I don't understand this. Is the gameplay going to be exactly like it was in BF1942 (same damage models, etc.)? Are they basically just importing all the BF1942 content to use with Vietnam with some improvements in the maps?
