Well I'm glad there will be no DOOM 3 upgrading for me, as I easily meet the required specs. I might still get a new videocard to replace my Radeon 9500 Pro but I've never shelled out $500 for a new videocard before and I don't really intend to do so now. Also thanks to everyone with the tips for my wifi problems yesterday, I haven't gone through them all yet but hopefully I'll have it fixed soon. In other news it looks like Ubisoft is finally releasing the long promised Far Cry 1.2 patch. Look for that in a few hours. • Weird Serial ATA Hard Drvie Behavior

I have two serial ata drives. One is Seagate 120gig (have windows installed on this one) and a Seagate 160gig. They are plugged into a Asus A7N8X Deluxe.

The issue is that whenever I turn off power to my system, wait any decent length of time (20 mins or more) and then turn power back on, the system can't find the drives. It's like they don't even exist to the BIOS. I have to wait for 2-5 mins and reboot several times for the system to finally see the drives and boot into windows. The drives give off warning beeps during the time when the system can't detect them.

The drives perform flawlessly once booted into windows and both are less than 15 months old and have lived in a case that isn't that hot. SeaTools shows no problems either.

Anyway, any thoughts? Two dying harddrvies or is my SATA portion of my motherboard going to crap?
