Before I started that last night though, I played through DOOM 1 and 2 co-op with some friends. Both still are a lot of fun. I get the feeling I will eventually end up with DOOM 3 on PC as well as Xbox, just so I can play it co-op on the Xbox. We finally had a summer like day here after all that rain, 82 degrees and no wind. About time too, 17 days into July. Movie: It's a terrible thing to hate your mother. But I didn't always hate her. When I was a child, I only kind of disliked her.
oh shi...
i used some potent ear wax removing drops last night then rinsed with warm water per directions. was fine until about 20 min after when my right ear kinda sealed up and the sound got really muffled. thought sleeping with my head tilted would allow the trapped water/melted earwax to escape (which is what i thought the problem was). well, didn't really help.
i've tried tilting head and jumping up and down...nothing. then i got an eyedropper and tried to flush whatever was inside out with water. made it even worse.
any advice before i go to the doctor's?

Has anyone here gone to ITT Tech for a degree, or know anyone who has? If so, what is your opinion of the school? I am looking at going there to get my Computer and Video Game Design bachelor's degree but I wanna know if the school is really worth 17k a year.

It's like it's a matter of "Can you do it? Yes. Your hired."
Atleast that's how it seems to me.
Also people who are involved in the construction trades. Brick layers, roofers, carpenters, painters, etc. More of "Can you do it / your hired" type situations.
It's either they can or can't and nobody is going to apply for any of those jobs if that can't do them.
Just my observation I wanted to share. :)

What do you guys think? Especially the quote The guys bitching about this new trend are inching up on 35 years old, and they grew up on old-school gameplay. They're a very vocal bunch, but they're just not the market anymore.
This is obviously the developers and publishers trying to make their games unique and cash in with the suburbanites. It's not as if a rap soundtrack is going to change the gameplay, is it?

I liked it, it was weak in parts but overall good. The cheif scientist needs to go though, he's annoying, which I understand is probably the intent but it's too much.
The rest of the cast seemed competent, the Major I was afraid was going to be too much like O'Neal but I think they did a good job moving away from the archetype. Well, see though, the dual military/civilian leadership seems destined to either lead to weak scripts or eventually they'll just ignore it altogether at some point.
And I hope they didn't pay Robert Patrick too much for his minor and completely useless role, De Niro's wooden acting on SNL was better.

Yeah, I totally went against everything that I was talking about yesterday, but I realized this step is going to be necessary. If this card can tie me until the beginning of next year, then I can pick up a sick card and go the distance with it. I'm excited.

As for the ending: Pretty much a letdown. After that huge fight in the wide open area and some badass troops I end up shooting a scientist to finish it? I remember seeing a hologram of this giant monster so I figured he was the end guy. Still an awesome game but I never wanted to believe that was the ending. I thought a king kong monster would attack my ship and I would fight him as the ship sinks again. Oh well.
So, start telling me albums to sample/buy along the lines above (Tupac / Tool) that will make me more well versed in the ways of these genres. For what it's worth, I really, really dislike Nelly, Little John, 50 Cent, etc.

Just got finished washing the 330i, and I'm posting some pics as promised. Haven't waxed it yet, as I'm waiting for the sun to give me some shade to do that.
I'm really happy with my decision. I went round and round about what car I wanted, and I'm glad I ended up where I did.
Sport Steering wheel, 155mph on the speedo (although I believe the US ones are governed to 130)! Woohoo!

Xenon headlights, and kidney grills. Those silver inserts in the headlights are titanium. I saw them in a catalog and was planning to buy them, but when I got the car, they already were installed. It turns out that 330s and M3s come with them stock.

Wider angle front shot. The paint is in really good condition, other than a few dings and a chip or two here or there. I'm going to clay it, clean it, buff it and wax it really good once it cools down a bit, or I get home, whichever comes first. :)

I just played some good ol' NES Tennis again... And I realized that I actually enjoy these sports games... My current collection (of more modern ones) is limited to Beach Spikers for the cube which I also really like. What other games should I check out, preferably for PC, PS2 or the Cube, but if there's some *really* good ones from Xbox, suggest those as well.
As far as tennis goes the onyl one I know of is Virtua Tennis, which I know is available for Dreamcast... Is there others? I'm also considering a soccer game and I hear this game from Konami for the PS2 (I think) is really good... Pro Evolution Soccer 2 or something I believe it was called.
Need more suggestions. Preferably only real-time sports... American Fotball isn't that interesting (as I barely know the rules), but I've glanced at the Madden boxes a few times and I've considered giving it a shot with a rent or something... Do these games include good tutorials that explain the rules and such?

i rebooted and the cpu temp was just coming down from 60C where it was set to activate at.
now this worries me because it's never happened before. usually under full load my machine tops out at 53C.
right now i have an 8 room fan blowing into it and the temp isn't going below 49C.
i need a new cooling solution. something that will really cool my system a lot. and at this point i don't care about the noise, i've lived with this thermaltake volcano 7 which is so loud and it doesn't even cool that well.
so hit me with the best cooling options i can get for an athlon 2000+

It's like a great classic style console RPG, but with fun real-time co-op battles. My brother and I have been waiting a long time for a game like this. Even my fiancee is having fun playing one of the characters. We've put about 6 hours into it today so far.
It's an RPG, for the cube, with co-op, that doesn't need GBAs. Awesome. It could be made better by playing a bit more like Secret of Mana but it's very good as-is. (personally I played games alongside my brother when we were little, so watching for a few minutes at a time doesn't bother me)

Occassionally, I've had to post some very specific hardware questions, and especially during the slow times of the day, it's very hard to get people to see the post. In about 15 minutes, it'll probably be bumped off the front page, and then forgotten about.
On the other end of the spectrum, during heavy traffic periods (read: evenings), there can be tons of posts, and people get sick of seeing them. I can't count how many "What video card?" threads I've seen in the last week--it's almost ridiculous. Regular posters get tired of answering the same questions with the same answers.
What I'd like to propose, is that the Shack set up some kind of specific "Hardware" section. Something that would list some video card and/or processor benchmarks, have up-to-date system requirements for hot titles on the horizon. Such a section could be used as a general guide to cut down on the number of generic questions the chatty threads see. (Plus, I think it would be quite helpful for people wanting to build or upgrade their systems). In addition, the hardware section could also have a comments system just like usual for people with more specific queries.
What does everybody think? Is this something that would be a worthwhile addition to The Shack, or is it not worth Steve and Maarten's time? What would you do differently if you were to add a Hardware section to the Shack?
