With that said, if you have AC on, you need to keep the doors and windows closed. If the AC is off (for whatever reason) and it is warm, I would open the windows just to at least get some air flow. It won't exactly feel as cool as air-conditioning (although I guess that depends on where you live) but that way the heat will be able to move.
Of course, like I said earlier much of this depends on where you live and how the weather is.
