Sounds fine to me. I think it works, and just bc it's metal-ish that doesnt mean there the ENTIRE feggin sndtrk is going to be that. Too many psychic clompainers in FP "wahh I thought this game was supposed to be all scary and dark that doesnt work!"

The music will most likely help build the atmosphere in the game.

nah. maybe it some fast paced game or something, but this kind of music in doom 3 is just retarded.

i like to get immursed into some games, doom 3 will be one of them. i want no music. nothing but scaryass sound effects. footsteps, screams, etc.

the music just ruins it all

You'll notice that the music is entitled intro so this is most like um the Intro music and the actual ingame music will likely be different.

Music definitely HELPS create a scary mood. Ever watch a horror movie with the sound turned off? It's not scary at all. All you see is someone slowly walking down the hallway. But turn on the sound, with that creepy music, and suddenly you're cringing in your chair and thinking, "Don't open that door! Get the hell outta the house! DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR! ... uh oh ... no ... Aigghhh!"

Yea, I suppose if they do a really really good job with it then it would help.

I'm anticipating tons and tons of sound effects though, from what I heard in the e3 demo, music didn't really seem necessary. It's rarely ever completely quiet.

First 8 seconds would work as background music. The rest is just a generic sounding numetal song.

It would work fine over a soundtrack to a demo movie, but I don't want to hear this garbage while I am playing through the game.

It really dates the game with this numetal sound.

Whereas the original Doom's music dates it if only because they didn't have a lot of choices for playing sound, and midi is cheesy.

      Quake 1 was perfection.

im sure its not the ingame stuff, if they're goin for a creepy tone having metal music blasting at you isnt gonna do it. Look for something like Far Cry with the music going slow then fast etc Maybe during crazy action pieces

It's the intro music, some of you guys seem to think this is the music that would play in the background through the whole game.

"Well, heavy metal/guitar doesn't fit the mood of Doom." Doom1 e1m1 music. 'nuff said. Doom was all about kicking ass and I feel the music clip captures that aspect.

It's the intro music and we've only heard a 22 second clip of it so far.

At least they didn't hire Sonic Mayhem this time around. :)

      I ♥♥♥ TOOL.

terrible beyond belief, what the fuck were they thinking? they spend all of this time working up a moody media campaign to promote a supposedly scary game and all I can think of when listening to this clip is here comes the upcoming limp bizkit album.

Dispicable and ridiculous. It's not like a theme song or anything at all except a Tool B side, as though Tool A sides weren't bad enough. blah.

Doesn't affect my view on the game or anything else surrounding it one bit, just... man that sample sucks. Perhaps the rest of the song is better. However, if they suck enough to make that even a portion of the whole song, I have little hope for the rest.
