Late Night Consoling

by Alec Matias, Jul 13, 2004 8:00pm PDT

I don't think I had as much fun reading an interview as I did with WhereIsPhantom.com's talk with Infinium Labs' president Kevin Bachus. While you need to give Bachus credit for doing an interview with a non-mainstream site, especially one that's been critical of his company's product, WiP?? didn't pull any punches and the end result was an informative article that makes you wonder what are they really thinking over there at Infinium Labs. If you want to catch up on the whole Phantom deal, this will help. GameSpy, at the same time, has provided a rather nifty guide that's all about the Nintendo DS, divulging everything they know. Sometimes its hard to keep up with everything going on out there, so hopefully this helps.

PS2 Xbox Battlefield: Modern Combat Delayed a Year Electronic Arts announced that Battlefield: Modern Combat, previously set for a release this fall, has been pushed back a year to the fall of 2005. The reason for such a long delay is to allow Digital Illusions ample time to insert a compelling single-player campaign, as the game was planned to be online-only. Nothing more specific than "consumer feedback" was attributed as the reason why to add an offline campaign.
Xbox Microsoft to Publish OutRun2 Microsoft revealed plans today that they will handle the North American publishing of OutRun2, the sequel to the 1986 arcade hit. Developed by SEGA's AM2 team, the Xbox Live-capable racer will hit stores in North America this October.
GBA New Star Wars Title for the GBA Ubisoft and LucasArts revealed today plans for a GBA game based on the Star Wars saga. Currently entitled Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force, the game will follow Luke Skywalker and feature events from all three films. Other details are sparse, but some form of multiplayer will be present. The game is slated to release alongside the DVD set in September.
GCN PSO Episode I & II Plus Confirmed First a rumor, now it's for real. IGN confirmed today that Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus is indeed bound for the US. The game will hit store shelves as soon as next month, August, and will be priced at $30, a great deal for those wanting to take the plunge.
PS2 Xbox GCN Misc. Q&As/Interviews WhereIsPhantom.com grills Infinium Labs' president Kevin Bachus on the Phantom. Oddly enough, they didn't ask the question that is their namesake. HomeLAN Fed speaks with a couple producers working on Champions: Return to Arms, the EverQuest action-RPG.
