Spot On: The secret life of voice actors is a GameSpot article, taking a look at the voice acting in games which is becoming increasingly important. According to the piece, a good voice actor can earn between $850 and $1,000 for a four-hour recording session, with some celebrities being able to command tens of thousands.

  • For the last decade almost, it's been all about improving the graphics. Currently the big push is for better storylines and AI, but I think that along side that there's going to be a big push to improve voice acting in games in the next year or so.

    When you think about it, it's not even hard to make voice acting good. It's just that since it's so often done last-minute, no one ever gets to think about it. I believe this is changing though, hopefully the planning out for voice will go alongside the planning for plot and story in the future.
