According to GameSpot people can look forward to a expanded franchise mode, with one of the new features being a play-by-play visual simulcast like ESPN's GameCast. Don't like where the game is going? Switch to coaching and take control of the game. You can also control training and see players' workout schedules. Another new feature is called Maximum Tackle, allowing you to fine-tune the offense and defense of players. Also look for several ESPN personalities in the game providing league news, post-game analysis and interviews.

Expected to be announced soon, the game will be more like the Saturn game Panzer Dragoon Saga in "style and tone". Thanks to a certain loony for the tip.
