Daikatana Unofficially Gold?
by Maarten Goldstein, Nov 29, 1999 10:56am PSTSteve touched on this last week, but now there's a report on Evil Avatar about the going gold of ION's much plagued and delayed title Daikatana. Check the deal (supposedly coming from inside sources):
Eidos has a release canidate of Daikatana. They are still doing testing, but the game is unofficially "Gone Gold".This is pretty much what I heard myself from people I know. I'm sure everyone loves the "patch later" part. It would be pretty dissapointing if the game came out in a very buggy state, especially if they want to regain any kind of respect.
Daikatana will ship on Monday December 20th and be in stores starting as early as December 21st.
Eidos has said that if bug fixing cannot be finished in time for the December 20th ship date, they will just ship the current release canidate and "patch later".

And I personally, don\'t have a problem with slightly \"eccentric\" or quote \"cool\" people making my entertainment. How many of you people would actually watch MTV, if it each show was produced by the same geeks who produced Star Trek? (not that there is anything wrong with ST)
I believe that as with all other forms of entertainment, the public is most entertained by the shit that come comes from the minds of eccentric, slightly scary, big haried individuals.
I also feel that most of the current \"cool games\" are primarily defined over their silly technical aspects (rendering engine, etc Not to mock the labor that goes into building an engine) I wish all this would change. I\'m not claiming DK will do anything to change any of this, I am only hoping.
was Because he could not wait to get Daikatana. Another Violent Game with a big sword.
