So they think people hated U2 due to lack of MP, huh? Those who beat and HAPPILY uninstalled the game won't devote 3GB of their HDD again to play MP, I bet.

But a free expansion would be much more appreciated.

Too bad MP means multiplayer instead of missionpack.
My main gripe with Unreal 2 would be the script also. What kinda dumb ass script writer starts your action game with absolutely no action for like 20 minutes. Lame lame lame. And what's with the 60 second long transitional shots of the ships entering and leaving the ships. boring.

It amazes me that people complain about free stuff. I'm sure with continued complaints about receiving free content, development companies will be sure to realize that it's a waste the man hours to develop free content for an unappreciative consumer.

The day of Subscription based Multiplayer gaming is will be upon us before you know it (Xbox Live, Star Wars Galaxies) so be thankful for what we can still get for free.

Now you can experience utter ass online with other players!. Seriously Mr Rein. Unreal 2 sucked. You're allowed to make be associated with a turd of a game for every Game Of The Year you make, so you're still doing ok. Just make UT2004 not suck - fuck the graphics and make DECENT MAPS and for the love of god don't farm Unreal 3 out to a company who can't write scripts.

unreal to was not a bad game but it was not a great game either. If they fix the crap they did to the engine and game speed this can still be a good mp game. Weapons were above average and the stuff they were originally going to put into multi sounds good.

This actually has a chance of being good. Remember Unreal2 uses those portable force fields, autoguns, and auto rocket launcers. So they could actually make a pretty good capture the flag, team fortress style. Not to mention, their weapons are more interesting than UT2003.

A movie trailer, a game demo, etc...if the first 15 seconds doesn't grab an audience...its likely to be teh suck. I played the Unreal 2 alpha build and it was really sweet. They must have dumbed it down, cuz that game demo was BOR-ING. Free MP isn't gonna make me drop $45.... I'm waiting for UT2k4

I'm pleased to hear this, but I really think this falls into the category of too little too late. Everyone has already panned the game, so the chance to build an online community around Unreal 2 has come and gone. It simply wasn't a worthy successor to Unreal 1, which IMO is one of the greatest FPS games ever made.

Just go get Elite Forces 2. It's a really good game, tons of secrets, visually it's 100% on par with U2, which was really U2's only strong point. The story is good, and it SHIPPED with multiplayer. Oh, and it was a lot longer of a game, by a few hours. And if you play it through, you get to tag some alien space babes at the end. Win/win baby.
