EverQuest 2 Q&A

8

Also on HomeLAN Fed is this EverQuest 2 Q&A. Lead content creator Chris Cao is asked what it's like to create a sequel to such a popular MMORPG, existing and new races in the sequel, what character generation is like this time, how leveling up will work, new monsters, and more.

Now, only the cities of Qeynos and Freeport remain. Players will explore outward from these last strongholds of civilization, seeking to discover and explore the mysteries still locked within the Shattered Lands while attempting to regain the lost powers of the elder world.

AWESOME! Anybody else notice how none of the new MMORPGs have the amount of content that the original EQ did? It's the biggest flaw they all share in common, and I figured if anybody would avoid that mistake it would be the guys making EQ2. Guess not though. Eventually somebody is going to realize that they have to have more than a handful of zones and a repeititive world to match the original success of EQ.

Awesome 2 cities, and the rest being rubble. Hey the whole rubble thing worked great for AC2.

Initially I had the same reaction, but I did think of something...

How would you start a game where EQ is right now? These games kinda have to expand with their world unless they are PvP based. The world EQ is at right now would be simply too massive for the launch of an MMO...especially considering most of the zones aren't for beginning levels.

On the other side, tho...just two cities and one continent seems like too little. At least give the palyer Faydwer with the elves, dwarves and gnomes. I guess if the continent was big enough, it would be ok...but the only two starting cities just doesn't sound great.

I'm all for it, as long as they are good expansions like Kunark, Velious or Planes of Power.

I ment Original EQ at release. Nothing else out is as big as EQ was before they even added anything.

Ya you are right I think a lot of shackers don't really know much about EQ either they played for a few weeks then quit but in all honesty you really don't learn crap or see shit in a short period of time.

EQ was absolutley huge for it's release and is over 4 years old now and yet to be outdone. Kind of amazing and sad at the same time
