Evening Reading
by Steve Gibson, Jun 07, 2003 5:33pm PDTFinding Nemo was good as expected, although the opening was a little more powerful than I felt it needed to be to convey the point. Kinda set an odd tone to get over for a little while but then again I am a total pansy. Here have these on the house:
- Interesting stuff about racial profiling in cinema - PDiddy is such a sweetie - Mars robots - Gay + website = profit! - Email privacy? Yeah right - Michael Jackson to go home, after his trip to Mars he will check out Indiana - Wireless securityLastly, BugbearB is in fact, everywhere. Luckily Popfile makes it so I dont even see those things in my inbox but there sure are a lot of them in my spam box!

I saw the things I wanted to see
Became the man I wanted to be

I haven't actually read the article but I know you guys will love to argue about it so here you go. Also, before you begin your a priori attacks, please note that the Heritage Foundation is a widely respected research institute and has been since 1973.

Is it better to have:
Page files on all 4, evenly distributed.
or
One "System managed" page file on one partition?

So I hooked up the Linksys USB Wireless modem - didn't change much - running Windows XP - set it to max at 11 MB/s - and the thing runs slower then a 56k - so that a 6 year old with Down Syndrome could outpace the way webpages load on a 14k connection.
Additionally, games like Aces High are mad lag'd - i have to use more then 90 * deflection on some shots just to score hits - and those are lag'd 5 or 6 seconds.
I appeal to the wisdom of the shack - help my poor machine get back to its rightful place of being lag free and break the shackles of being a HPB.

Some chilled-out tunes for tonight's random music post me thinks. These three tracks are pretty similar (nice chords, slow beats, rolling basslines and some nice vocals) but they're all done by different people. They're the kind of tracks you could expect to find being played in Ibiza cafes at about 6am when you're sitting on the beach watching the sun rise after a night's hard clubbing! Enjoy!

This is somewhere between Evil-Dolemite's Underrated games posts and lapskaus' Halo video. But worse than both -
No-one I know had heard of Sonic Jam. Well, not all of Sonic Jam, seeing as it's main purpose is a collection of the first 4 Sonic games and various bits and pieces in the Museum (Adverts, intros, music etc). But the bit that makes it stand out in memory is the 3d Sonic World. Really it's a "hub" for moving around between the special features in the disc, but it's basically a 3d representation of a 2d Sonic level. What I mean is, it's not Sonic Adventure with it's various playing styles, it's a run-around-collecting-rings style thing.
Think Mario 64 like, but not fleshed out. Seeing as it's only wee.
So, I thought I'd try and make a video, seeing as I play the Saturn through my PC anyway.
Video: 10mb, Divx 5.05 - seems to work, but some people had to use The Playa. Hrmph
