God, I cannot tell you how much I hate the 90 food unit cap and the heroes. Granted, some people like that, but I despise it. All Warcraft III is the heroes and how you use them. And the creeps.. I hate it all. I want to be fighting the enemy, not some god damn NPC mobs trying to level my hero. I hope SC2 is classic Starcraft+, not Warcraft III in space.

For a guy who plays almost entirely non-melee custom maps (Defense of the acients, Tower Defence, etc) this expansion wont do much for me correct?

Many people is talking about Diablo 3 here and let me ask you all this question. Would you really care if Diablo 3 is not in 3D?

I mean if they kept the same camera angle like in d1&d2 but had higher res graphics, and more items, and different levels and made it even bigger than d2, I'm pretty sure we would all buy it, yes? I know I would. ^_^

I am a war3x beta tester (or was?) and there are still a few big balance problems. How can they go gold at a time like this? Maybe they are planning to keep the beta open and issue patches or something, who knows.

I never really got into Blizzard RTS games. Total Annhilation broke my ability to enjoy any other RTS that doesn't have unit command/control and AI as good as TA.

You know what worries me? Blizzard released warcraft 3 at 60$, and the expansion is now 35$.

I'm praying they don't try to rip their fans off on WoW and charge 20$/month. 15$/month is pushing it, but 20 would be ridiculous. Theoritically it should be released at 12.95 a month so it could actually have a chance to steal some customers from Star Wars Galaxies (which sucks) and Everquest 2 (will probably suck)

I love Warcraft and I love blizzard, i'll be buying this expansion because they put a lot of work into it. I just hope I can balance my time between this and Rise of Nations :(

Lol, all the casual players will love it, all the critics will give it great reviews, and then we'll see gradual whining and bitching from all the hardcore players about the balance issue. =)

The colors in War3 were too vibrant for me, so much so that it felt like an uber-cartoon whatever that is

I beta tested War3 and the War3 expansion. I have to say I'm a little less excited with Frozen Thrones Multiplayer offering. When it first came it out it was fun to use the new units (I had stopped playing wc3 a while ago), but most of them quickly became old/gimmicky. In an attempt to boost their useage Blizzard would strengthen them to ridiculous amounts and then in the next patch weaken them again.

As the game currently stands I enjoy it, but not enough to play it more than a few times a week. Blizzard has said they still have some surprises in store, but ultimately if you got bored of Wc3 you'll get bored of Frozen Throne too.

As a quake 3 player, I think most of you fps junkies will agree with me. Quake 4 (if its good) or Half life 2 is what I need, anything else is just to pass the time.:P

p.s. having said all this I still think the single player will rock.

i actually played War3 a bit and liked it... but I reformatted everything and forgot to save my games off and just never reinstalled heh

someday i need to finish the singleplayer game in WC3...I greatly enjoyed most of what I did get to play. I think I got part of the way into the Orc campaign, which was cool. I had met the Taurens and I think I was escorting them or something and then I just quit playing.

Ungodly cutscenes. The problem is that I just suck at RTS games, I am very slow and missions that should take 20 mins max take me an hour. I will finish it eventually just to see all of the movies, but I won't pay $35 for the expansion...

Considering the Beta is still FAR from balanced, I don't see how they can release it yet. During nighttime only about 80 games and less than 400 people are online playing at a time, that's a drastic decrease from the start of the beta, when it was FUN.

People don't go random cuz they fear getting NE. Fiends and statues are everywhere, spellbreakers and massive AoE are everywhere. It's like a 2 race game now.

One nice feature, though kinda controversial for some, is that you can customize hotkeys now. I always wondered why blizzard didnt allow this in previous games (probably because its more complicated than just rebinding commands ala fps games)

Question for you war3 beta testers. Once you have an altar + a hero (tier 1) you can goto a tavern, hire another hero , right? That would wreak havoc and create all sorts of problems.

this release is faster than usual....

The current state of the beta just isn't that fun multiplayer (after the first 50-100 games. Casual gamers will still like it). They really had some nice changes and improvements during the beta, but right now the game just doesnt feel right. Its not a couple tweaks that its missing, something deep down is wrong and there would need to be drastic changes to fix, if its even possible. I like that they tried to fix the damage/armor/counter system, but in the end it just feels like they fubar'd it up more. I'd like to see nuetral heroes taken out, more racial distinction, better maps, less emphasis on AOE spells, etc. Deep down I think the problem is the way the economy is handled, the 5 peon per mine thing just kills all aspects of timing in this game and pretty much all other problems are the root of this.

I dunno it still a fun game, better than 99% of the other games out there, but War3 is diffinetly missing something that just gives it that "oooomph" that all other blizzard games have.

I just couldn't get into war3 like I did with sc. This will be the first Blizzard product I pass on. Weird.

When is the patch going to come out? As I understand it, wc3 + all the expansion changes is almost a completely different game

I got into the War3 Expantion Beta test and I never played it once. I'm ready to start again though.
