Blizzard has announced today that their Frozen Throne expansion for Warcraft 3 has gone gold. Frozen Throne features four new campaigns, four new race-specific hero characters, new multiplayer maps and various other new features. Thanks WarcraftIII.Net.

Following in the tradition of previous Blizzard expansion sets, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne provides gamers with a vast new chapter in the epic Warcraft saga. In the single-player campaign, players revisit the war-torn world of Azeroth. Several months have passed since Archimonde and the Burning Legion were defeated at the battle of Mount Hyjal, yet a new threat has arisen throughout the land.
The expansion will show up in stores around the world in just over a month, July 1st. The price should be about $35 (not exactly cheap for an expansion).

  • The current state of the beta just isn't that fun multiplayer (after the first 50-100 games. Casual gamers will still like it). They really had some nice changes and improvements during the beta, but right now the game just doesnt feel right. Its not a couple tweaks that its missing, something deep down is wrong and there would need to be drastic changes to fix, if its even possible. I like that they tried to fix the damage/armor/counter system, but in the end it just feels like they fubar'd it up more. I'd like to see nuetral heroes taken out, more racial distinction, better maps, less emphasis on AOE spells, etc. Deep down I think the problem is the way the economy is handled, the 5 peon per mine thing just kills all aspects of timing in this game and pretty much all other problems are the root of this.

I dunno it still a fun game, better than 99% of the other games out there, but War3 is diffinetly missing something that just gives it that "oooomph" that all other blizzard games have.
