My E3 booth babe story:

I went to E3 2001. Horribly crowed, as I'm sure it always was, but with a bit of an edge due to a lot of XBox and Gamecube titles being debuted. I eventually wandered over to the Epic place where they were showing Unreal Championship. They had some arbitrary Egyptian-themed booth babes wandering about. So I picked up a controller, laughed at it, laughed at the controls, and was trying to play when this press person started to take pictures of me. Like flies to honey, booth babes started to accumulate around me, maybe three of them, with a booth hunk, I guess they're called, in there for good measure. As the guy's taking pictures, this one girl on my right says, and I fucking quote: "Oh, yeah! Go there! Do that!" while pointing at the screen. It was all I could do not to bust out laughing right there. It summed up in many different ways the vacuousness that E3 is. I understand that it's their job and all that, but it doesn't make it (the nonsense she was saying, and her entire job) any less meaningless.

If I ever get the opportunity to go to another E3, I will laugh and say no fucking way. Hell, I plan to stay as far away from L.A. in general as I can for the rest of my life.

Raves... uggh you Americans haven't got a clue what a Rave or a raver is.

About Smashmouth, ya it's pretty F'in sad... last year I was at spring break in Panama City Beach, Florida... and Club La Vela had them playing out on the beach. For a whole week, you got special Arm band tickets to the show for free, but you had to keep them on the whole time (most just slipped them off wrist and put in pocket). So, it was enclosed on the beach with chain link fence, and when people began shuffling in, they were told no alcohol. So, the crowd of 30 wanting to get in was now 15. Took a long time for them to come out, they played their set of songs... and after their 5th one they had used up all songs everyone knew from shrek and MTV from the 90's. Somewhere in there the lead singer started to say "Ok, they're letting you guys bring beer into the show now, bring some beer in and someone get me one! (I'm not kidding, he took a guy's beer and was drinking it)" So then they were letting anyone in. I think security guards were starting to be paid to herd people into the show. Smashmouth then started to play cover songs. When they ran out of that, they were making people come on stage and made them sing their songs. It was... pathetic.

yo would anyone have gotten *GOOD* images of the new gba-sp colors? i've been searching and only come up on ok looking ones, hard to tell which color is which.

I'm pretty sure this is a character from "Super Duper Sumos," which is apparently a cartoon on Nickelodeon, and is being made into a GBA game by Midway. Either that, or someone dressed up like a pissed off cheese wedge.

EA's annual monstrosity. It's big, loud, and right there when you walk into the south hall. I really feel sorry for the people who have to stand there for three days.

I saw a picture of at least one porn star that was at the Nvidia party. Dressed up just like the other winged girls, but this one liked to go without the top. You can tell because she's the only blonde with wings.
