Evening Reading
by Maarten Goldstein, May 15, 2003 5:03pm PDTToday wasn't half as exciting as yesterday, kinda hard to beat Half-Life 2 footage though of course. Still, there are plenty of more games at the show that we should hear about during the next few days, I'm interested in reading about XIII and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. myself.
- Who would've thought, Kraft Foods is responding to the Oreos lawsuit from a few days ago. - R.I.P Robert Stack. - Need tornado shelter? Don't go to a convenience store. - Politican wants votes, announces sex vouchers. - Lunar eclipse tonight.Lastly, here's some more of that game violence is bad news.

So, my gf wants to get some nachos and a drink. Cool. I stand in line with her, she gets them, and she gets her napkins and right then they start letting people in and we get just shoved in front of them all so we got kick ass seats and didnt have to fight for them.
However, a few things were distracting from the kickass movie that was infront of me. First was the fact that it was god damned hot in that theatre. Sure it was packed but fuck! Open the doors, turn on the AC, SOMETHING! Too friggen hot.
Second even pissed me off more. Two indian guys that live in the same dorms I do were sitting behind me and talking through the WHOLE FUCKING MOVIE in their little indian language. These assholes also dont know what quiet voice means. I hate this shit more then I hate anything else in the movie world sans the movie just stopping in the middle.

With the experimental warmth of '60s French films and the pizzicato flavor of horizontal hip-hop, Simon Green's Bonobo project established a welcome niche of a pretension-free, post-party intellectual chill-out.

Well, Unreal2 hit the bargain bin faster than Daikatana... so i picked it up. But the piece of shit won't install.. i keep getting a crc error at the end of the (30 minute long) installation. The disc is not scratched or anything. I tried disabling norton etc with no luck. I'm installing from a plexwriter (24\10\40) on win2k sp3. Any suggestions?

people who complain about windows being expensive are retarded. windows is not expensive.
compare it to another piece of software. lets take a regular game. you pay around $50-60 for that game. you play it for a week or two, finish it or get bored, and leave it sitting, dustign it off for the occasional multiplayer use or nostalgic replay.
now you have windows. its about $100-150. but for the cost of 2-3 games, you get a huge and complex work of software that youll use every second you use your computer. for the next two years. without windows, none of the other software you buy would work.
windows is truely essential to your computing, and you use it constantly for two years or more. especially with xp, it's fully worth the cost. in fact id go so far as to say its UNDERPRICED for what you get out of it.

Took forever too.
Question: What speed should my PC3200 ram run at?
I had it running at 200mhz, but the damn thing kept crashing on me.
I dropped it to 166mhz and it seems to be running MUCH better.
Also, what is the optimal temp threshhold for a 2500+xp barton chip?

Pet-project... Shackphrase dictionary. I've added "dirtbox" to show you what to do. Now go forth and spread the word!
Then maybe the newbies won't think "dirtbox" means "trashcan" and shit like that...
